Our Process
-
Iron infusions require an active prescription from a licensed healthcare provider (family doctor, nurse practitioner, or prescribing pharmacist).
Your prescriber will review your lab work and determine whether an iron infusion is appropriate for your care plan. Once prescribed, the iron product is dispensed through your pharmacy.
-
After you have your prescription, book a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation through our Jane booking system (or email us)
Prior to your call, you’ll receive a brief intake form to complete. During the call, one of our experienced RNs will:
Review your health history and intake form
Ensure it is safe for you to proceed with an iron infusion
Walk you through what to expect before, during, and after your appointment
Answer any questions you may have
If everything looks appropriate, your infusion appointment will be scheduled during this call. Infusions are usually booked within two weeks of your intake being cleared.
-
Your infusion takes place in our calm, private clinic space with one-on-one RN care.
Appointment details:
Duration: Approximately 90 minutes
Fee: $240 (collected at your appointment)
Please bring:
Your prescribed iron product from the pharmacy
Photo ID
Alberta Health Care card (if applicable)
A detailed receipt will be provided for insurance purposes, and visit details will be shared with your prescriber to support continuity of care.
-
During your infusion, you’ll be monitored closely by our nursing team in a calm, private setting. This monitored period allows us to ensure your comfort and safety throughout your visit.
If you’re interested, optional enhancements or injections may be administered after your infusion, during the standard 30-minute post-infusion monitoring period. Your RN will review options with you at your appointment and ensure everything aligns safely with your care plan.
You’re welcome to relax, read, or simply rest while we take care of the rest.
-
After your infusion, your RN will review post-care guidance and what to expect over the coming days.
Follow-up blood work is arranged through the healthcare provider who prescribed your iron, as they will monitor your response and determine if further treatment is needed.
We will:
Provide you with a detailed receipt for insurance purposes
Share a summary of your infusion visit with your prescribing provider to support ongoing care and follow-up
Our goal is to ensure clear communication and a seamless experience between you, our clinic, and your healthcare team.
If you don’t see a time that works for you, please email us at hello@nectariv.ca, and we’ll be happy to find a time that fits your schedule.
