Iron Infusions:
Serving St. Albert & the Edmonton Area
Booking an iron infusion can feel unfamiliar — especially if it’s your first time. At Nectar IV Hydration & Wellness, our goal is to make the experience calm, clear, and fully supported from start to finish.
Here’s what you can expect on the day of your iron infusion at our St. Albert clinic, conveniently serving clients from across Edmonton and surrounding communities.
Before You Arrive
In the hours leading up to your appointment, we recommend:
Drinking plenty of water
Eating a balanced meal or light snack
Arriving hydrated and nourished helps support comfort during your iron infusion and allows your body to respond optimally.
Once you arrive, you’ll be welcomed into our private clinic space by one of our experienced Registered Nurses.
When You Arrive at the Clinic
Your RN will walk you through the entire process so you know exactly what to expect. Nothing is rushed, and there’s always time for questions.
You’ll be offered:
A comfortable, reclining infusion chair
A warming blanket if you’d like one
A beverage to help you settle in
Our space is designed to feel calm and supportive — whether you choose to relax, read, or simply rest during your visit.
During Your Iron Infusion
Your iron infusion is administered by a Registered Nurse trained in infusion therapy, with close monitoring throughout your appointment.
Your RN will:
Review each step before starting
Monitor you during the infusion
Ensure your comfort and safety at all times
Most iron infusion appointments last approximately 90 minutes, including monitoring time. Post-care instructions will be reviewed before you leave, so you feel confident heading home.
You’ll also receive a detailed receipt for insurance or health spending accounts, and we’ll provide a summary of your infusion to your prescribing provider to support continuity of care.
After Your Appointment
Following your infusion, your healthcare provider may arrange follow-up blood work to assess your response and guide next steps. This follow-up is coordinated directly through the provider who prescribed your iron.
Our team remains available if you have questions after your visit — you’re never left wondering what’s next.
Don’t Have a Prescription Yet?
If you don’t currently have a prescription for an iron infusion, you can book a virtual consultation with Stacey Dimock at Lotus Functional Medicine.
During this appointment:
Labs can be ordered, if appropriate
Your results are reviewed
A prescription for Monoferric iron infusion may be provided if deemed safe and suitable
This option is ideal for clients seeking a guided, functional medicine–informed approach to iron deficiency and treatment planning.
